| Rockview's debut production, RULES OF THE GAME a story about the final moments in the siege of a comic book shop is a smart, fast-paced crime drama that packs great writing, gifted acting, and some surprising twists into its eleven-minute "real-time" running time.
The film was written and directed by Marton Varo, Jr. Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Leonard Schrader (KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN) served as script consultant for the film, which was produced by Dawn Canada and Aimee Holguin. Piecing the film together was editor Brian Singbiel from the amazing footage shot by cinematographer Russell Gearhart. The film's mood was set by Chris Barron's poignant musical score. The movie was shot on location -- at Mile High Comics in Garden Grove, CA -- on Super-16mm film, using Panavision cameras and lenses. Serving as Executive Producer on the film was Marton G. Varo, an internationally-renowned sculptor and -- more importantly -- father of writer/director Marton Jr. RULES OF THE GAME boasts a phenomenally talented cast led by the prolific and charismatic Bruce Davison, an acclaimed performer who has appeared in a number of memorable roles throughout his impressive and established career in both, film and television. Among his notable credits are X-MEN, APT PUPIL, WILLARD, Harry and the Hendersons (TV), and LONGTIME COMPANION, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award in 1990. Most recently, Mr. Davison co-starred in the film RUNAWAY JURY as well as the NBC television series Kingdom Hospital.
